3 Weeks Down, Going Strong.

WEEK 3 DOWN! Sorry for the no-show last week, 'twas our 2 year wedding anni and we went away.

WEIGHT: 87.1   (starting weight 90.9kgs, goal 65.9kgs )
GOAL FOR END OF WEEK 3: 86
TOTAL WEIGHT LOST: 3.8kg in 3 weeks

RESULT: Haven't hit my goal weight but I am tracking nicely and have lost 3.8kg in 3 weeks so that is pretty good. And that's carbing up at the end of Week 2 (yes I know I said I wouldn't but it was my wedding anniversary so we had some drinks and some nibbles and then brunch and dinner the next day.  I have to say I was pretty restrained though - my goal was to do it for 24 hours but it ended up about 26.. ok 27.) I had some dairy too. I know I know I'm such a dick. Overall though, I was very restrained throughout our two nights away.

I think I've come to a realisation/decision that for now, at the start of this lifestyle/diet change, I should aim to eliminate dairy as much as possible but not try to do it like a scientific experiment, aka COMPLETE ELIMINATION. It is just so bloody hard. I go to try my baby's dinner to test the heat and then realise it's got goddamn milk in it or something! You also really have to be a pain when you go out to eat and make sure nothing is cooked in butter etc. I just cant quite be assed with this right now. That can be Step 2. me thinks! My very clever husby suggested this to me a few weeks ago when he scoffed at me for my (possibly dramatic) reaction when I realised I'd just eaten dairy via la baby food, and tried to suggest just this. I didn't agree at the time but I've come to realise that for the first time ever, he may be right.

Hahaha jusssssst kidding baby <3

But here is why I will, one day, when I can get some self-control, (I can picture myself on that day, the day when I become super-mum, tight little booty, rockin my lycra 3/4 tights and singlet, North Bondi styles, (possibly a scrunchie?), full-face of makeup (did you sweat at the gym? or did you not even go to the gym but you're wearing active wear? which one is worse?!).. and my shiny white Nikes)  HA just kidding, but really when I am in good enough shape to be in "MAINTENANCE MODE" (it's a hallowed place I hear), then I WILL do total elimination of Dairy and see if these dark rings I've rocked under my eyes all my life, are, in fact, "allergy shiners" as they called them in the olden days. Imagine if after an entire lifetime with them, I could get them to disappear.

BTW it's an interesting concept also, that despite them being one of the things about myself that I'm most self-conscious about, I'm STILL not motivated enough to be able to be 100% strictly off dairy. That is so fkd. Even rats could be trained to do that I reckon! That just shows you the depth of my chocolate and latte addiction. And did I mention butter?! [insert drool emoji].

So here I am at the end of Week 3. I have been extremely slack with putting my food into my food diary. I have done almost no exercise since Week 1. I haven't been to the gym! I haven't even been filling in my graphs and charts that I made! Well, not all of them (yes I am a total Excel geek, you wouldn't read about it). HOWEVER...

I HAVE been extremely strict and compliant to the Bulletproof diet. I have been in ketosis constantly bar the 26 hours at the end of Week 2. I was back in within 24 hours of my carb-up too. The ketostick has been purple the whole time. I have restrained from microwaving almost completely. I have had very very little dairy and no milk. Actually that's a lie I had a latte with my sister (don't worry I already got in trouble for it :) and I had a latte on my trip away. That's it though. I've been intermittent fasting from 8pm to 12pm the next day pretty much every day. The cheats would be that I sometimes have some nut butter after 8 (or a Fat Bomb, which I'm allowed and which are YUM. Well I'm allowed them before 8pm. I made these Fat Bombs which taste EXACTLY like a Summer Roll. Like exacatackaly the same. I'll post the recipe on my Facebook page. Come join me there if you haven't already:   https://www.facebook.com/ketogenickaty/?ref=bookmarks) and occasionally I've eaten before 12.. only a couple of days though.

RESULTS:  My appetite has reduced DRAMATICALLY. I can easily get through to dinner without snacking and sometimes aren't even hungry for dinner. My eyes look clearer and brighter and more colourful. My skin on my hands has cleared up (contact dermatitis which is just slight pealing) - this was very mild to start with but still it has pretty much disappeared. My knees are less sore (just realised this today) and I think I have more energy. I definitely am not craving sweet stuff and being strictly keto is going easily at this time. I have stopped logging my food because I am eating the same things every day so I know Im coming in at the right number of carbs, and cals doesnt matter too much on keto. I'm a little bit hungry all the time so I know I'm running at a calorie deficit. I am making friends with hunger :) . It's quite empowering actually. When I say this I just mean I am comfortable with seeing and treating food as fuel and just eating the two prescribed meals. I've been telling the little craving voices to go away and I think they have started to leave. This has to be my number one reason why I like doing keto. It's just so easy to stick to for me. I mean, Bacon Eggs and Avo salad for breakfast every day? Maybe add some pinenuts..haloumi if you eat dairy.. Does that sound hard to you?!  Rissoles or yummy salmon with salad and dressing and some seeds and nuts and steamed veges for dinner..  A delicious healthy guilt-free Summer Roll bite for dessert.... Mmmmm mmmmmmm.

So my goal for the end of Week 4 is to hit 86kg. I reckon I can do it. The other morning I was 86.7 but then on official weigh-in day it had gone up to 87.1 just to be annoying I think. So I reckon 86 is a realistic target. Plan is to be Bulletproof, do the fasting and the two meals. No microwaving, little to no dairy and at least a couple of walks around the pond! As you can see I've decided to not do the 25kg to 0kg thing - it was too confusing! plus I just wanna be real with y'all. I figure if you guys are still reading now down here deep down on this page then maybe you are trying to relate and it is easier when you can compare real statistics with your own. xxx ... That reminds me of when I was first starting out on my bigtime gym and fatloss mish, I joined Bodyspace at bodybuilding.com (great site by the way) so I could have public liability as I was working on a superyacht (yes Below Deck is 100% accurate). Annnnyway, I would troll through pages and pages of transformations, putting in all my parameters to try and find women of my age and height and body shape (Apple) (most people are Pears it seems) and see how my humungous stomach could ever look ripped (I urge you to try this for motivation!). Well literally after pages and pages of scrolling, I found ONE account of this chick with exactly the same stats as me and she had transformed into this UNBELIEVABLY hot body and documented it the whole way. It was so rad to see how she shrunk and morphed and how her huge tummy button got tiny and vertical (a long-term goal of mine and my sister's and Kim Kardashian's interestingly enough) and how she just shaped up as the fat got used up and her muscles got built. Man she was so fat and then so hot. FASCINATING. And that was such a huge motivation for me. Guess that's why "Before and After" shots are such a good marketing technique huh?

Anyway that is enough from me and bubby is crying! See y'all next week!

Yours in health, happiness and impending hotness,

Katy xxx
